News From The World

As always, before we say goodbye, we want to share some snapshots of what is happening around us.
A recent study by Peter Yu, a Texas A+M University School of Law Professor, delved into the use blockchain in copyright administration. Beyond its known capacity, for secure and tamper-proof ownership records, Yu highlights its potential as a cornerstone for future copyright registration. Leveraging its traceability and public accessibility blockchain emerges as a possible transformative solution adressing various challenges within copyright operations, as revealed in the study’s insights.
Social-Fi, the fusion of social media and DeFi, emerged in the surge in online engagement during the pandemic, explains The Defiant. It aims to empower creators through direct P2P transactions, thus bypassing ad revenue volatility. Friendtech’s launch on Coinbase’s L2 Base introduced gated chatrooms where users bought access via “keys”, sparking this trend. While NewBitcoinCity and others expanded features, concerns over fees emerged and persist. The anticipation around Friendtech’s Airdrop signals broader interest in this creator focused economy, yet it remainds unready for retail, and only can hint at the potential spark reshaping content monetization across web2 and web3.
